One step at a time . . .

Listen here to this week’s edition of Rocking Tonight:

Well, a big cheery welcome to this week’s Rocking Tonight and if you like some good rocking-tonight-3rocking sounds, then there’s a whole hour of them here! The sunshine has become a little more elusive this week, so there have fewer temptations to distract us. As a result, we’ve been digging deep in the archives and come up with some old favourites, some very recent releases and a few surprises.

British rockers were well represented with Don Lang & His Frantic Five, Tommy Sampson & His Strongmen, Alma Cogan, Cliff Richard, Billy Fury and Lew Lewis, Mike Sarne, Jimmy Page and Shakin’ Stevens. Shaky may be heading off on tour soon and with a new album out now, but on this occasion  we went back to an earlier release for our choice this week. We put on our dancing shoes ready for things to kick off with a rocking band called Hot Little Mama with their take on ‘Wild Joker’ . . . .
Gone rocking
Wild Joker – Hot Little Mama
Josephine – Shakin’ Stevens
Rock Pretty Baby – Don Lang & His Frantic Five
Rockin’ – Tommy Sampson & His Strongmen
One Step At A Time – Brenda Lee
Stairway Of Love – Alma Cogan
This Little Girl’s Gone Rockin’ – Ruth Brown
Yea Yea – The Kendall Sisters
That’s All Right – Hillard Street
Lollipop – Ronald & Ruby
Remember then . . .
To Be Loved – The Pentagons
In My Heart – The Timetones
Fabulous – Cliff Richard & The Shadows
Candy Kisses – Billy Fury
My Baby’s Crazy About Elvis – Mike Sarne
Blues Suede Shoes – Elvis Presley
Lewis Boogie – Jerry Lee Lewis
Use Somebody – Dick Brave & The Backbeats
Little Things – The Kingbeesuse-somebody-dick-brave-the-backbeats
Who Am I – Lew Lewis & The Twilight Trio
Livin’ Lovin’ Wreck – Jimmy Page

If you happen to like a little doo wop, we had an ample sample (as Mad Daddy would say) with The Pentagons and The Timetones . . . followed by some familiar names. All too soon the sands of time were running out but we just had time to squeeze in a little gem from Jimmy Page before we packed up. Then, we were saying our thank yous for your good company during the show and hoping that we may entice you back again, same time, same place, next week to go Rocking Tonight. So, until then . . . remember . . . . have fun!
