Do you know . . .

Listen here to this week’s show:

Well, it’s always good to see the friendly faces Down at Kokomo’s and the regulars know there’s always plenty of good company and some very fine sounds courtesy of the Commissioner. This week we off on our way to the midnight hour with an instrumental from The Robert Cray Band called ‘Hip Tight Onions’ which I’m guessing is a nod in the direction of Booker T & The MGs . . . . and for those who remember the Jackson Five, they’ll have detected no similarities with the band called The Jackson Four, especially on their version of ‘I’d Rather Drink Muddy Water’.

Hip Tight Onions – The Robert Cray Band
I’d Rather Drink Muddy Water – The Jackson Four
36 – 22 – 36 – Herbie Goins & The Nightimers
Fool That I Am – LaVern Baker
Nobody Knows – Shaun Escoffery
Do You Know – Ron Sunshine & Full Swing
One Mint Julep – The Mike Cotton Band
Good Grease – Mark III Trio

We found a great 60s sound from the Mike Cotton Band with their take of that R&B standard ‘One Mint Julep’ and while that was playing Miss Rosie was gliding past the tables and throwing a cheery smile as she cleared away the glasses. Of course, that signalled it was nearly tomorrow, so we headed for the midnight hour with the Mark III Trio and there offering of ‘Good Grease’. Then it was all over . . . until next week. So, until then . . . . have fun!
