Listen here to this week’s show:

.
Well, the blues are back and we’ve got a whole hour of them here on the Blues Come Calling. So if you like the blues then I recommend you relax, lean back in a comfy chair and let’s enjoy some great blues together

It was certainly a great week for new blues offerings and we struggled to find time to fit in everything that we could have played, but there’s always next week. We did keep some spaces in the playlist for some scratchy blues and some old favourites, but we kicked off with a great track from The Mick Clarke Band called ‘Shake It Up’ which is the title track of their excellent new album . . . . and there was plenty more . . . .

Change it up . . . .
Shake It Up – The Mick Clarke Band (Shake It Up – 2015)
Change It Up (Live) – Brad Wilson (Blues Thunder – 2015)
Jake Head Boogie – Lightnin’ Hopkins (Jake Head Boogie – 1999)
Sittin’ On Top Of The World – Robert Cray (4 Nights Of 40 Years Live – 2015)
You’ll Find Love – Josh Smith (Over Your Head – 2015)
Outskirts Of Love – Shemekia Copeland (Outskirts Of Love – 2015)
Six Wheel Chaser – Meade Lux Lewis (Giants of Boogie Woogie – 2015)
Big Change Is Gonna Come – Paul Cox (Man Out Of Time – 2015)

Pinetop’s Pick
St Louis Blues – Alberter Hunter (Chicago-The Living Legends – 1993)

Raising hell . . .
Something About You Baby I Like – Eddie Martin’s Big Red Radio (Live In Tuscany – 2015)
Grip Of The Blues – Erja Lyytinen (Grip of The Blues – 2008)
I Dare You – Husky Tones (Time For A Change – 2015)
Raising Hell – Zac Harmon (Right Man Right Now – 2015)

We closed this week’s show with the opening track from a new album by Zac Harmon. The album’s called Right Man Right Time and we chose the powerhouse number, ‘Raising Hell’. Then, we were quickly putting the smiling picture of the station boss back on the wall and waving a cheery farewell . . . at least until next week. So, you’d better be ready same time same place next week, when once again The Blues Come Calling. Until then . . . . have fun!
