The Commissioner’s Magic Cycles . . . .

Posted: September 25, 2013 in Hear This . . . . !

The astute, receptive and the switched on people, who tuned in to Wireless FM on Tuesday night this week, will have quickly realised that things weren’t normal in Wireless FM land. When it came time for Max’s Magic Circles, the first few words will have conveyed in subtle ways that it was not Max Quirk presiding over his usual 90 minutes of musical magic. Instead, it was The Commissioner sitting in with a playlist designed (hopefully) to keep folks from wanting to clean the budgie’s cage, or hand-wash their socks, or contact The Samaritans.

The musical choices ranged far and wide and offered a welcome reprieve from the mumbling and stumbling that came between them. But you can judge for yourself here:

For those who couldn’t believe their ears, here’s the playlist:
Image – Alan Haven
Breathalyser – The Cocktail Cabinet
Waterloo Sunset – David Bowie
She’s Got Everything – The Kinks
Monday Morning – Tales of Justine
Phantasmagoria – Curved Air
Blueberry Pie – Chamaeleon Church
Town Without Pity – Ronnie Montrose
Run Run Run – Jo Jo Gunne
Willie’s Theme – Diplomats of Solid Sound
Sweet Jane – Enrico Ruggeri
Small Town Talk – Paul Thorn
The Crying Machine – Steve Vai
All Along The Watchtower – The Buddy Miles Express
Spanish Harlem Incident – Donovan Frankenreiter
Man Of The World – Chris Farlowe & the Thunderbirds
Stop Messin’ Around – Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac
Bus Stop – Sugar Plum Fairy
Just One More Chance – The Outer Limits
All Wrong – The Perishers
Come On Back – The Wild Ones
Lie To Me – Joe Cocker
A Hard Way To Go – Savoy Brown
I’m The Face – The High Numbers
Afrodisiac – Wasa Express

. . . . and if that doesn’t appeal to you, feel free to start a petition for the return of Max Quirk  on a Tuesday night!!!
